Spark

Empowering young designers to unlock creativity through interactive tools.

Introduction

The project stemmed from a need to address creative blocks faced by designers, particularly in the 18-30 age group, within the creative industry.

The challenge was to create an interactive product that stimulates creativity and aids designers in generating new ideas, overcoming the limitations of working with pre-existing concepts and ideas that often lead to creative stagnation

Research

In the research phase, I conducted a literature study and interviews with different types of creative professionals—such as a concept developer, a clothing designer, and a digital artist. The research focused on understanding how creativity emerges and the external factors that influence it. I explored how neural networks and conversational interfaces can foster creativity. Key insights included the potential of using AI-driven technology, like language models, to assist designers by serving as sparring partners and providing feedback.

Project Objectives

The goal was to develop a solution that:

  • Stimulates creativity through interactive methods.

  • Provides users with feedback and prompts to help them think outside the box.

  • Accommodates different user types within the design community, such as beginners and more experienced designers.

  • Reduces the likelihood of creative blocks, enabling a smoother creative process

Final Result

The final product, named Spark, allows designers to generate ideas through personalized prompts and explore new concepts in a collaborative, AI-assisted environment. The platform integrates community features where users can share and draw inspiration from each other's prompts. Additionally, a gamified system rewards users for sharing, helping sustain engagement. Spark not only supports creative ideation but also fosters a community where creativity is continuously inspired and nurtured.
